Jay's musical style encompasses vast spectrum of music. His relentless pursuit of authenticity has been driving him to learn everything there is about music. Jay graduated from Vancouver Community College with Bachelors of Applied Music in Composition, with minor studies in guitar, piano, bass, and voice. He is well-known for his musical versatility and his passion in sound. Jay has also been in every ensemble VCC has to offer while focusing on his own electroacoustic project.

 

Jay grew up in North Vancouver where he first fell in love with playing guitar. With 15 years of playing experience, he has played at various venues around Vancouver over the past few years. Born in South Korea, he was classically trained in piano at the age of 5. Even at an early age Jay would often play the music he wants to hear and end up improvising for hours. 

 

It is Jay's goal at Deep Cove Music to not only share all of his musical knowledge, but to assist his students in finding their own voice through their instruments.
